ACHS 2016The 2016 edition of The Aiken Charity Horse Show Series came to a close this past weekend rounding out an outstanding first year event at Bruce's Field. It was the talk the town as exhibitors, trainers, sponsors, and spectators were treated to top notch facilities, competition, and hospitality just as late founder Bruce Duchossois, of who the field is named after, envisioned.

The board of directors of the Aiken Horse Park and the ACHS 2016management staff worked tirelessly for months leading up to the event and the hard work seemes to have paid off. "This is the nicest and most well run event I have been to in a long time, one rider exclaimed. It rivals any horse show in the country from the decorations in the rings and around the tent- the courses and jumps were beautiful and well thought out and the hospitality was simply the best! I already have it on my calendar for next year".

Grand Opening Ceremonies took place Friday evening along with the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and including a ribbon cutting ceremony, a speech from Aiken City mayor Rick Obson, and recorded remarks from Governor Nikki Hayley. (Click to see video)

In attendance were some of the Duchossois family including Bruce's brother Craig Duchossois, sister Dayle Duchossois, and father Richard Duchossois who all helped in the ribbon cutting ceremony along with the Aiken Horse Park President Jack Wetzel.
