Equus Events, Inc produces premier hunter and jumper events throughout the southeast. Founded by show manager JP Godard and his wife Megan, their main purpose is to create and run exhibitor friendly horse shows which also excel in the highest level of quality, competition, and most importantly hospitality.

Equus Events is also proud to be a positive part of the community by supporting charitable organizations and other non-profit groups through their events. Based in the beautiful equestrian town of Aiken, SC, the shows offer something for everyone from the cross rail level to the grand prix jumpers.


JP and Megan Godard.

JP was born and raised in Aiken, SC and has been involved in the horse industry all of his life. He has excelled as manager and as a course designer in both the hunter and jumper ring and is currently recognized as one of the NARG preferred course designers. He has designed courses at some of North America’s most prestigious horse shows including the National Horse Show, Pennsylvania National Horse Show, the Winter Equestrian Festival, The Devon Horse Show, Pony Finals, USEF Junior Hunter Finals,the Legacy Cup, and Spruce Meadows. JP founded Equus Events in 2003 which now has a very sought after string of horse shows in the southeast. He also handles the managing duties for the Aiken Horse Park Foundation and the Tryon International Equestrian Center.

Originally from Germantown, TN Megan grew up in an equestrian family and had a very succesful junior career riding with Phoebe Sheets. Upon turning pro, she showed horses for many professionals including Dave Pellegrini and Spring Mill Farm in Eads,TN while also attending the University of Memphis. She really enjoyed teaching young students and has coached many to national wins. Upon moving to Aiken, Megan is now a part time realtor with Meybohm Realtors while co-running Equus Events with her husband JP. JP and Megan's proudest accomplishments are their two beautiful children; Maddie and Lane.
